Caernarfonshire lies on the north coast of Wales and stretches from the beautiful Lleyn Peninsular to the Victorian town of Llandudno, encompassing the hills and mountains of Snowdonia; Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales, is at the heart of the county.

Towns and small villages, medieval castles and forts, copper mines and slate quarries, long sandy beaches and hidden coves, mountains and hills, rivers and lakes, forests and woodland, moors, heath land and wild country with an abundance of plants and wildlife; add to this the many tourist attractions and outdoor activity centres - Caernarfonshire has them all!

We also have "Felin Bach" - our own fully equipped twin hostels set in 7 acres of woodland and a 12-acre campsite for anyone wishing to stay in the area.

What is Guiding?

Girlguiding is the largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women in the UK with 600,000 members including 65,000 trained volunteer leader. We offer girls and their leaders the opportunity to:

  • have fun
  • make new friends
  • develop skills
  • attend special events
  • develop skills.
  • enjoy international travel

In accordance with the provisions of the Sex Discrimination Act of 1986 we have remained a "girls only" organisation at the expressed wishes of the girls themselves. This environment enables our young members to develop in self confidence and self esteem by having to take the responsibility to make things happen, to acquire leadership skills and to become self reliant without the pressures of a mixed gender setting.
